We decided in January to establish our tentative event schedule for 2025. It is possible these dates may change (or we may decide to pursue another route). Please check this page for updates before each planned event. These are listed below. All events start on Saturday at 10 a.m. or 9 a.m.  unless otherwise noted. In the event of inclement weather, we plan to meet the following day (Sunday at 1 p.m. rather than canceling the trip this year). We welcome new members and look forward to meeting you at these events. • February 15th – we will discuss central Illinois insects and examine specimens and discuss resources for identification. We we will meet at Carol’s house (12029 Hickory Grove Road, Dunlap). We will meet at 10 a.m. Park in the Cul deSac behind her home.
• March 15th – we will tour the Funk’s Grove mineral museum and home.  We will meet at 9 a.m. [Note the time change]. We will meet at Mark’s house (116 Burton Street, Washington) and drive/ car pool to the site. We ned to conclude our tours before noon.
• April 19th – we will visit Merwin Nature Preserve (near Lexington). We will meet at 10 a.m. We will meet at Mark’s house (116 Burton Street, Washington) and drive/ car pool to the preserve. [Note the time change].
• April 26th – we will participate in the Forest Park Nature Center Earth Day activities. We will meet at Forest Park (likely around 10 a.m.).
• May 17th – we will visit Henry Gleason Nature Preserve (near Manito). We will meet at 9 a.m. [Note the time change]. We will meet at Mark’s house (116 Burton Street, Washington) and drive/ car pool to the preserve.
• June 21st — we will visit Banner Marsh (near Kingston Mines). We will meet at 9 a.m. We we will meet at Carol’s house (12029 Hickory Grove Road, Dunlap) and drive/ car pool to the site. Park in the Cul deSac behind her home.
• July 19th — we will visit Dixon Waterfowl Refuge (near Hennepin). We will meet at 9 a.m. We we will meet at Carol’s house (12029 Hickory Grove Road, Dunlap) and drive/ car pool to the site. Park in the Cul deSac behind her home.
• August 16th – we will visit Weston Cemetery Prairie Nature Preserve (near Weston). We will meet at 9 a.m. We will meet at Mark’s house (116 Burton Street, Washington) and drive/ car pool to the preserve.
• September 20th – we will meet at Jubilee Park (probably Red Fox Run) at 5 pm for a picnic/ potluck and night observing of insects. [Note the time change].
• October 18th – we will meet at Carol’s house (12029 Hickory Grove Road, Dunlap) and drive to Singing Woods. We will meet at 10 a.m. Park in the Cul deSac behind her home. [Note the time change].
• November 15th – we will meet at Carol’s house (12029 Hickory Grove Road, Dunlap) for an insect show and tell. We will meet at 10 a.m.  Please bring something insect related to discuss.
• December there will be no meeting – Happy Holidays.
